Protest pointless
Do people not realise that, no matter how they demonstrate or protest, if central Government has decreed that such and such an area should be built upon, it will be built upon, and any amount of local protest will mean nothing to the powers-that-be?
I recall an area, I forget where exactly, and the local council decided it had to be developed. In spite of photographs which showed this land flooded to a depth of two or three feet, the developers went ahead and, a few years later, when houses had been built, an 18-year-old girl had her first car inundated.
I do not know what happened after that, but the houses were also flooded and, after evidence had been produced to show that this land was prone to flooding!
