While continuing with the horsey theme we expect to have Leighton Aspell, the Pulborough jockey, who won this year’s Grand National on Pineau de Rea, and the whole event will be opened by our MP Nick Herbert who will also judge the scarecrows.

The 2014 Fair has the old favourites like the traditional Harris Brothers Fun Fair, the food and drink section, now bigger than ever and sponsored by So-India, with music provided by the West Chiltington Silver band, local craft stalls plus the children’s favourite - the flying bears from the church tower will still be there, sponsored by Comyn and James (estate agents) as well as lots in the church including the fabulous display by the Pulborough Garden Society.

Additionally there are new arena events, new stalls, new activities and new competitions in both the Fair field opposite the Chequers Hotel (RH20 1AD) and the adjacent Parish church.

For children there is an amazing scarecrow competition, the Tomfoolery children’s show and then for all visiting the Harvest Fair with their favourite pet, a wonderful fun pet competition judged by Arun Vets with rosettes for winners of each fun class - such as ‘The pet the judge would most like to take home!’

Prior to the event free brochures will be widely available that include discount offers with local businesses as well as all the fair details and, on the day and before, a Harvest Fair Raffle Tickets with amazing prizes including £100 cash donated by Fowlers.
