ON the day the town mourns losing a local newspaper office, Cllr Deirdre Williams defects to another political party.
Is this really front page news? Or a surprise that she is featured alongside previously Tory but now also ‘seeing the light’ politically - Cllr Stuart Earl.
The Lib Dems must feel almost glad it wasn’t them she joined as they have already blotted their election hopes by supporting this awful coalition government without another ‘sitting on the fence ‘ politician on board.
Old Town ward, then Sackville ward - keeping an eye on the electorate mood (and vote) and most winnable seat.
