Rudgwick set for annual Village Day

This year will feature a variety of stalls, events and activities from local businesses and community groups including cake stall, flower stall, lucky dip and crockery smash, face painting, dog show, live bands, bouncy castle, arts and crafts and hog roast as well as a BBQ and licensed bar operating from Rudgwick Sports & Social Club.

Now in its 4th year, Rudgwick Village Day is fast becoming an event for everyone’s calendar and unlike most annual events, admission is free.

Each year funds raised from the event go to a different charity, which in the past has included Help for Heroes and the Dame Vera Lynn Trust for Children with Cerebral Palsy. This year, funds raised will go back into the local community and to keep the popular village day going.

Official opening takes place at 2pm at the King George V playing fields followed by an afternoon and evening of entertainment starting off with a performance of Annie by local children from the Vicky Michelle Academy of Dance Academy, followed by a Village Zumba, Tug of War, raffle and live performances from bands the Mojos and the Duplicates and ending with a disco.

Proudly sponsored this year by Rudgwick Parish Council, Old Rudgwick Cider Society (ORCS) and James Paul BMW, bring the whole family and come along for an afternoon and evening of entertainment where there’ll be something for everyone.
