Rudgwick society set to hold spring meeting

After a break for coffee, there will be a talk from Michael Blencoe, of the Sussex Branch of Butterfly Conservation, on ‘The Butterflies and Moths of Sussex’.

His illustrated talk will be looking at the 45 species of butterfly and a few of the moths that breed in our county. He will be focusing on some of the more unusual species that live in the Rudgwick area such as the Heart Moth, the Brown Hairstreak and the Purple Emperor. All welcome, no charge for entry.

Rudgwick Preservation Society Walks start again on Tuesday 6th May at 7.00pm. the first walk is from the Fox Inn, Bucks Green to Howick and back, a gentle stroll taking in the river Arun, bluebells, ransoms, even llamas.

We walk every Tuesday evening, starting at the same time, until August. Each walk has a different starting point, mostly from local pubs, and not all are in Rudgwick. Anyone can come on these friendly evenings, which can continue in the pub for those who wish to. None are longer than 2 hours.

Dogs (and children) are always welcome. Walks for the remainder of this month: 13th May, the Mucky Duck, Tismans Common; 20th May, King’s Head, Rudgwick; 27th May Red Lyon, Slinfold. Please see our website for full details.
