Liz Kitchen, the local district councillor, was pleased to open the new-look community owned store on Friday September 18.

The manager, David and his team would like to welcome you to a great village store with Post Office in the heart of Rusper Village which opens seven days a week and where the atmosphere is always warm and friendly.

In addition to leading brands you can buy pies from The Real Pie Company, fresh bread and pastries which are all baked on the premises along with local produce from the surrounding area. A local wine supplier refreshes the wine stocks on a regular basis with some new and different wines not found in your local supermarket. If you love your ice cream then you will know about the award winning ‘Simply ice cream’ and David stocks a wide range.

David and his team endeavour to keep the shop superbly stocked and with the benefit of a post office means that there is no need for customers to drive miles in order to post their letters and packages. There are free withdrawals and deposits with most banks and you can also pay your bills. Other services include Dry Cleaning, Dartford Bridge Crossing and the National Lottery.

David is always willing and trying to source new lines and will even order you a free range award winning Turkey at Christmas!

The shop can be contacted on 01293 871366 or please pop in and have a look for yourself. Become a shareholder in with this local venture and purchase one share for £10.

When you buy your County Times this week from Rusper Village Stores you will receive a FREE French stick as a taster of the delicious bread on offer.
