Rye shops did have the Christmas spirit

Whilst there may be some relevance in Mr Slora’s overall disappointment with the town festivities over the Christmas Festival weekend, I fail to understand why he singled out for criticism two of the shops that, in fact, did the utmost to provide goodwill and cheer. The ladies at Forget-Me-Not were in full Victorian costume, handing out mulled apple juice on the street corner and Concepts (with its wonderful window display) was providing mince pies, mulled wine and virtually any other drink you wanted! These were unhelpful and totally undeserved comments, although we at least agree that the Tourist Office Elves brought a smile.
