Sad to see the state of John Ryan’s memorial in Rye

I visited Rye with my family for the first time ever today and had a fantastic day in a beautiful town, enjoying the historic buildings, cobbled streets, quaint boutiques and even fish and chips. However, we were greatly disappointed when we discovered the bench and garden in memory of the creator of Captain Pugwash, John Ryan.

For a “much-loved resident and benefactor of Rye” it was very sad to see the state of disrepair that the garden and bench has fallen into, particularly as I’m sure visitors to the town, like myself, like to seek out attractions like this. I just wanted to draw your attention to this and hope that the townspeople can collaborate to improve this.
