Sainsbury’s Horsham support ‘The Big Brownie Birthday’

Sainsbury’s Horsham has joined forces with Haywards Heath and East Grinstead stores to support The Big Brownie Birthday as part of its support for the local community.

1,000 Brownies from Girlguiding Sussex Central County will be attending this event. Colleagues including Jane Etheridge from the Horsham Store will be attending the event which will be a weekend of fun and games for over 1,000 Brownies being held at the AMEX stadium at the end of June. The Sainsbury’s stores will be donating the snacks, drinks and the Breakfast for this event.

Pam Leadbeater, Division Commissioner for Horsham said: “Girlguiding Sussex Central are delighted to thank Sainsbury’s for supporting our county wide event celebrating 100 years of Brownies.”

Sainsbury’s Horsham Store Manager Derek Boarer, said: “Our store is at the heart of the local community and is important we can play our part to support it. When we heard about The Big Brownie Birthday, we just wanted to help out as much as we could, and joining forces with our Haywards Heath and East Grinstead stores has meant that we can support the whole event.”

This year, Sainsbury’s has donated over £600,000 to local charities and community groups as part of the Community Budget scheme.
