Fishponds Boarding House will be a self-contained building with a kitchen, living room and facilities for 12 Boarders ranging in age from 8 to 13 along with a residential Housemistress. Older Boarders will continue living in the main Mansion House building.

Construction work is being carried out at the moment, converting the building from a domestic residence to a homely, flexible living space with its own back garden – great for the future plans for ‘growing our own’ - all situated within the 33 acres of beautiful parkland on our campus.

Farlington’s ethos for Boarding is to provide a relaxed, caring environment, where there are rules, but these are kept to a minimum. The emphasis is on creating an atmosphere where girls are accepted for themselves and are encouraged to be kind and considerate to one another’s needs.

Louise Higson, Farlington’s Headmistress, said, ‘This new Boarding House will allow us to extend our boarding provision to give a dedicated living area for our younger Boarders, enabling us to provide a home-away-from-home atmosphere.

We are keen that girls have the chance to experience boarding, so we will be offering ‘Taster Evenings’ as well as full, weekly and flexi-boarding options. Fishponds House is beautifully situated within our grounds and is the perfect boarding location.”
