Thanks to a packed programme of activities, and with a little help from the weather, the event outshone all previous years, raising a record-smashing £10,081.51 for the school.

As the school’s biggest fundraising event, staff, pupils and families worked together to help make the day such a huge success.

The event filled the school field and had something for everyone, from well-loved favourites such as face-painting and cake sales to some exciting new additions in the form of bungee bowling and Total Wipeout.

Well-established Summer Fun Day traditions such as the Head Teacher and Deputy Head challenge proved particularly popular with the crowds, as the teachers went head to head on the Bungee Run and Shaun the Sheep Rodeo. The school choir and country dancers entertained visitors throughout the day whilst a team of teachers battled to be crowned Billingshurst BBQ Masterchef, serving over 200 sausages and 200 burgers.

Helen Williamson, head teacher comments: “As ever, we are amazed at the grand total from this fundraising event.

We were delighted so many people joined us for a fantastic afternoon of family entertainment.

“Behind the fun, we have an incredible team who run our parent committee, the BPSCA, and without them this event would not be possible.

“Thanks to these fundraising efforts every penny raised goes back to the school, providing opportunities for every child, and for that we are very grateful.”
