Scouts celebrate grant funding success for modernised headquarters

Members of 5th and 10th Horsham Weald Scouts embarked on a major Scout HQ modernisation programme in 2014 to create new foyer, toilets, showers and meeting room at their HQ in Bennetts Field, Horsham. The project cost £65,000 + VAT.

The majority of the funding came from grant providers including West Sussex County Council Community Initiative Fund and Big Society Fund, Horsham District Council s106, Horsham Matters, Horsham Lions, Horsham Rotary, Gatwick Airport Community Trust, Toyota GB, Horsham Weald District Scouts and West Sussex County Scouts.

The Scouts held a thank you celebration and grand opening of the modernisation. Pictured here are some of the grant providers, members of the Scouts Executive Committee and members of the Group from each section. Owing to the generosity of the grant providers, 5th/10th is able to continue to deliver Scouting five nights a week for young people aged 6 – 18 years on the eastern side of Horsham.
