Scrap the shelters

HOW dim are our councillors?

It is quite obvious from the letters in the Observer that the majority of Bexhill residents do not want the shelters which the council is proposing to erect on the West Parade.

Not because they are not Edwardian in style but simply because they are not fit for purpose.

They are open to the elements and have most unsuitable seating, guaranteed to give severe backache to all ages and liable to have many residents and visitors rolling around the ground in order to rise from stupid seats.

Scrap them at once and get some of the residents who use them to design them. Not a competition, just sensible people.

And I also commend the updating of the railway station - but where are the toilets?

I am told it’s due to ancient drains! Well scrap updating the seafront, get the drains fixed first.
