Seafront for walkers not for cyclists

Most of my life I lived in Essex but I have been down here for eight years. I would like to give my thoughts on cycling.

I use a walking stick when I go out. I am against having a cycle track along the promenade where people walk. Now the law has been amended for it to happen, but my view is that the promenade is for people to walk along. I feel very strongly about this.

I walk up to Glyne Gap and I walk right along the front. Along the seafront at Glyne Gap there are four signs saying there is no cycling but they are faded so much you can barely see them. I would suggest painting over these signs so that people can actually read them.

The promenade is for walking. When people come cycling up you have to be very careful not to be knocked over. Who is going to police this anyway and make sure they will only cycle where they should?
