Secrecy over sacking is undemocratic

I WOULD like to endorse the remarks in Janet Crossley's letter (Gazette, March 18) about the case of the harbourmaster.

We vote in, and pay for, our representatives on the council and the harbour board, and we are entitled to an explanation of the suspension and subsequent dismissal of our harbourmaster.

Who did suspend him? Was it with the knowledge of the harbour board?

Why have we not the slightest idea of what went on?

The people of Littlehampton should be told, and now. Is that not democracy?
