Shark deaths are a shame

IT was sad to find a pile of six small-spotted catsharks on Rustington beach last week.

The Sharks Trust said it was a shame because even though there are a large number of them in our seas, they are harmless and lovable and perform a vital part in the sea’s ecosystem.

We might have become so detached from the remarkable animals that live in the sea, that we can be so careless with their lives.

A strange sight it would be, and heartbreaking, for all of us to perhaps find six dead horses outside the Co-operative, or six blackbirds in a row outside Barclays.
