Ship, ahoy, me lads

ON Sunday, May 8, I noticed a number of young lads having an unexpected treat as their dads pointed out the large freighter about to enter Littlehampton harbour.

Yes, that’s right, commercial shipping may be down, but it is not yet out – in fact, if they were lucky, the lads and their dads may also have seen another ship leaving the harbour a little earlier, and all within half an hour.

The Mungo left just before 3pm, while The Martin arrived at 3.25.
