Sick of antics of politicians

I come from a family brought up on Labour Party, Trade Union and Salvation Army principles of fair play.

I know little about the workings of the local Labour Party and judging by the response to Cllr Watson’s defection that is a blessing!

To have worked to get him elected and then not even be told of his sudden support for the dictatorship that passes as democracy in RDC must be a huge blow to those involved.

I am sure that Cllr Watson started off doing his best for his constituents, but in the end may have fallen into the same trap as Margaret Thatcher , Tony Blair etc.

In wanting to ensure their place in history. Vanity, vanity!

If he wanted to be effective at local level in politics why not have the courage to be independent, as Charles Clark and others have?

Roger McCarthy is, to my mind, right in saying that the Cllr should stand down and stand for re-election under his new colours.

No wonder that large sections of the population are sick of the antics of politicians at all levels of government.
