Sniffing out origins

WITH regard to the story about the stink coming from Mewsbrook Park lake, maybe the dog walkers would like to comment on the stench of dog excrement, rather than the lake itself?

My young chldren are at risk of disease and we are constantly having to tell them to not run on the grass because of the amount of dog dirt, plus most dogs are not on leads.

We live five minutes’ walk away from Mewsbrook and to be honest, as bad as the lake smells at the moment, it is in no way as bad as the smell from the dogs.

The dog mess is everywhere, there is not a bit of green in that park (or Middlemead, Littlehampton) that is safe for my children to run on.

We are constantly shouting to our children to mind where they are walking – even on the paths and walkways.

There have even been times where there is dog mess in the FENCED IN children’s playground.

Dogs have run up to my children, scaring them, scaring the birds on the lake, diving into the water and scaring the swans and their young.

There have been several occasions where my children have got the excrement from dogs on their shoes and clothes and we are absolutely sick of it.

As well as being a disgusting nuisance, it is also a danger to health.
