So tired of excuses

I WELCOME the new campaign to rebuild Littlehampton Community Hospital.

I have been writing letters for years in support of the hospital, starting in 2000, when the primary care trust (PCT) wanted to relocate the hospital and asked the public for comments.

In the article “Hospital bid” (Gazette, June 16), Arun council leader Gillian Brown commented on the loss of ring-fenced funding specifically set aside to rebuild the hospital.

Ring-fenced funding is supposed to be protected. I have tried several times to find out what has happened to this money, but without success.

Has it been used for other hospitals in the area, or just wasted on 10 years of meetings and reviews? The PCT has so far refused to answer this question.

On a final note, it would not surprise me if, when the newly formed Coastal West Sussex Federation takes over in 2013, that it is based at The Causeway, Goring-by-Sea, the building currently used by the PCT, and that it employs the same people who have promised so much over the years, but have delivered excuses instead of results.
