ST CATHERINE'S: A decision not easy to make

WITH reference to your article (Gazette, May 31), regarding St Catherine's Catholic Primary School, I was one of the many parents who made the difficult decision to remove my child from the school in July, 2004, as I was dissatisfied with the way the school was being run by the headship team.

This was not an easy decision to make, but after watching the school deteriorate over a period of years, I felt I had little choice.

My child's move to another local school was made easier by the many familiar faces from St Catherine's who had also been removed at the same time, after the local education authority did not listen to the parents' concerns.

It is a great shame that three years later the same dissatisfaction is evident.

Perhaps the authority will listen to parents now.
