Staggering hike in council tax

I cannot believe Battle Town Council can flippantly vote to raise the Council Tax by a staggering 9.5%.

The current Band ‘D’ rate is £1619.06 and this would add another £153.81 yearly or £2.96 per week.

Cllr Richard Jessop stating it would only add 14p or half a cigarette per week grossly trivialises the increase.

It’s even more incredulous when one compares the Political fallout caused by the big 6 Energy company’s similar percentage rises would typically add ‘only’ £120 extra. On top of this we are expected to pay another £25 for a new compost bin. I feel we’ve bin had.
