Still happy reading the Herald after 58 years

ORIGINALLY, my regular weekly subscriptions of the Shoreham Herald were sent to me via your East Street, Shoreham-by-Sea, offices.

Then, after many years, via your then T.R. Beckett newspaper offices, in Eastbourne.

A few years after that, the paper was sent to me via your Worthing offices '“ and now, more recently, from Portsmouth.

All my family (most of whom are now deceased) used to live in the Shoreham-by-Sea and Southwick areas, and all of them were ardent Shoreham Herald readers.

I believe my grandparents, on my deceased father's side of the family, even bought the very first, original, number one issue of the paper!

Correspondent's note: A 63-year-old senior citizen who has been an ardent and regular reader of the Shoreham Herald via weekly subscription since I was five years old, on July 16, 1950 '“ surely this has to be something of a record?
