Stop this whinging

JUDGING from the increasing number of letters emerging in the Observer, from what I believe is the true 'majority view' in the town, it is now time to say stop!

Stop all this whinging and whining about this project or that development. Stop all this weekly rhetoric, biased and distorted statistics, misleading and inaccurate statements, all purporting to represent the majority view in the town. These are all eating away, like a cancer, at the very heart of our community and quite frankly it’s shameful.

If it’s not the Next Wave Project, it’s the shelters and now, lw and behold, it’s the Herbrand Walk beach private development.

This collection of “angry clubs” in the town consist of much the same people saying much the same thing. But let me say this, they do not represent my view, nor I suspect the majority view of the townsfolk as they would have you believe. In all they add up to less than three per cent of the population of Bexhill so where’s the majority view in that?

If, as I suspect, the real issue or hidden agenda here is a growing dissatisfaction by many with some of the elected members of Rother District Council, then okay, fine, we are after all a democracy, so do something about it.

Get behind the Bexhill Alliance and put yourselves up as independent candidates at the next local council elections.

But please stop trying to stifle progress in the town by this incessant moaning and groaning. I came here almost 10 years ago as an investor and stakeholder in the town and feel passionate about its future. I have since retired here and I expect I’ll probably die here too, as long as these “angry clubs” don’t kill the town first.
