Each year, Storrington First School pupils take part in a competition to design a light to sit over a shop in the village for the Christmas season. Local home care provider Caremark (Pulborough) were pleased to again sponsor the competition this year.

Local radio Spirit FM were in attendance, providing the shoppers with plenty of festive music to get them in the mood and Anna Worthington-Leese, the Chairman of Storrington and Sullington Parish Council gave the welcoming address and officially opened the event.

Just before the lights went on, Caremark Limited’s CEO Kevin Lewis presented this year’s winner, Chester Fawkes, a pupil in Year 2 with his prize and congratulated him on his lovely design.

The big countdown to the 6pm switch-on followed with Chester ready to press the button as the clock struck the hour.

Shoppers were welcomed at the Caremark stand with mugs of hot chocolate or mulled wine and a mince pie or two which helped to keep out the cold!

Staff were on hand able to chat to enquirers, giving advice and information about the bespoke home care service the company provides.
