Students arrive in style for dinner dance

Submitted by Glebelands School

Glebelands School was very proud to hold its annual Year 11 Dinner Dance at the Surrey Hills Hotel on Friday, June 21.

It was a brilliant evening and the sun came out especially on the evening so that students could really arrive in style.

The students really showed imagination and arrived in every possible mode of transport.

There was a selection of classic Rolls Royce cars, fabulously expensive sports cars, vintage British and American models as well as a huge Big Rig truck and memorably a speedboat! We even had a bicycle built for two!

The students really were a credit to the school and their parents and looked smart with the ladies in a beautiful array of cocktail dresses and floor length evening gowns.

The boys were equally dapper in their black tie dinner jackets, with some students customising the dress code in a variety of different coloured dinner jackets and fancy shoes.

I am pleased to say one brave soul even ventured out in his kilt and looked marvellous too!

Head of Achievement at Glebelands Miss McAulay said: “What a brilliant group of young people. The students went out of their way to exceed the already high standards that Glebelands has for school Proms.

“They had a fantastic evening of celebration at the end of their examinations and set a really high standard for the year groups to follow in the future.

“There is only one class of 2013 and they did indeed show real class! We look forward to celebrating their GCSE results with them in August”.
