Entrants were delighted to have a dry sunny day for the competition in view of the course hazards, including flooded water tunnels and smoke bombs.

Set in Lodge Hill’s 32 acre site in the South Downs National Park near Pulborough, the existing woodland Adventure Trail and woodland paths formed the basis of the 10km Xtreme Challenge event course, to which many new obstacles and hazards had been added.

These included water filled tunnels, smoke bombs, a tyre carrying hill, a sweat box, and a final lung-busting section. Competitors had to negotiate all of these in addition to the existing obstacles on the Trail.

First across the line was Duncan Bennett in 1 hour, 3 mins and 45 seconds, and the first lady to finish was Sandra Nemorin-Noel in a time of 1 hour 24 mins and 19 seconds (pictured right).

Lodge Hill’s next Xtreme Challenge will be held on Sunday 3rd April 2016 – for bookings please contact [email protected], or phone - 01798 831972. Bookings are being taken now!
