The team comprising of three adults and four children swam for 55 minutes and completed 105 lengths which was brilliant. Swimmer Emily, aged 10, said, “It was really fun and I have been sponsored by my friends and family.”

Monies raised will go to the Lions Club charity, Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance to provide night flying capability and to Castlewood School in equal proportion. Children at Castlewood supported the swimmers by bringing in their small change from which they made a “Poster Of Pennies”. This alone raised £81 and with the swimmers’ individual sponsorship Castlewood hope to have raised in excess of £150.

Julia Slocombe, Headteacher, commented, “It’s fantastic that children and staff can work together to support local charities and have fun at the same time. This wonderful event embraces the School’s ethos.”

Castlewood hope to use the money raised to buy some new playground equipment so that the whole school can benefit from this great sporting event.
