Suffering from cutbacks in every way

HOW dreadful to read about such a thing as a "food lifeline" (Gazette, October 1).

It's not surprising, when you think how cruelly our generation has been treated by this useless government, with the cut of interest rates to half a per cent, and pensioners who saved hard to avoid such a crisis being particularly affected.

It seems Littlehampton is suffering from cutbacks in every way '“ our promised return of a much-needed local hospital, and our deteriorating bus service. As for the much-criticised monstrosity of a bench being allowed to go ahead at the expense of our shelters and comfortable seats, it beggars belief.

As suggested by many residents, including myself, bring us back a bandstand. And let's have more, much-needed improvements in Pier Road, such as al fresco roadside cafs to encourage visitors and residents alike to enjoy our much-loved river views.

Can't end without mentioning our once very popular ferry boat, across to the West Beach. If the yacht club can do it for their open day, why can't the council?
