Surprised to see

WE readers over the past weeks have been following the story regarding the Town Show and the town council’s desire to save public money by rehousing it in the new community centre in Southfields Road.

I was surprised to see (Gazette, July 26) the show manager Alan Humphrey pictured with the Labour Party collecting signatures for a petition to retain the venue at Rosemead open space.

Although it is my belief that this matter should not be political, the only good I can see is the Labour Party may be using the issue as a vehicle in preparation for the West Sussex County Council election next year.

The downside for the public is that the Labour Party has demonstrated that if it was still in power at the town council, it would not have looked for savings but would still spend large amounts of our money on non-essential things.

I want my council tax to be kept to a minimum, good on any party for trying to achieve this.
