Visitors to the stand were invited to take part in a tea tasting challenge to see if they could tell their Lapsang Souchongs from their PG Tips.

“As well as learning more about apprenticeships and career opportunities in the hospitality sector, everyone taking part in the challenge had great fun and also learnt something about the different types of teas available, the methods of serving and the relevance of certain blends for different occasions,” said Jon Clay, Sussex area manager for HIT Training.

“It was a very successful day for us - we welcomed more than 200 people to the stand including many school leavers and unemployed people, all keen to find out more about apprenticeship vacancies and opportunities.”

The HIT tea tasting challenge was one of many regional activities held across the UK to mark National Apprentice Week, which is designed to focus attention on the benefits of apprenticeships to individuals, businesses and the economy.

HIT is the UK’s leading specialist provider of apprenticeships and work-based learning in the hospitality sector.
