Since they began collecting regular donations some four years ago, the League have been able to support various charities and institutions, including the Phoenix Stroke Club, Chestnut Tree House, and the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust.

League Treasurer Barbara Fox said: “We have a good group of people here, and many of them were raising money through sponsored events, so we thought we could do something more. We collect an amount of money each week from all players and this is donated to a worthy cause at the end of each season.”

The league takes place every Wednesday night at 7.30 at Horsham Superbowl in Horsham Park.

Barbara said: “It’s really a social occasion, with bowlers of all ages and abilities. Anyone who would like to bowl regularly can enter a three-player team, or we can slot an individual into one of our existing teams.”
