The tasters also donated generously to raise £256.48 with the proceeds of the sales going towards the £10 million fundraising target.

“The children have had a fantastic time with this Apprentice style challenge and we are delighted to have been able to support and raise awareness for such a worthwhile cause,” said headteacher, Helen Williamson.

Richard Moore, Tesco Pulborough store manager commented: “The money raised will go towards supporting the 3.8 million people with diabetes and help people at high risk of Type 2 diabetes reduce their risk of the condition.

“It is an extremely good cause and we thank all our customers for supporting our fruity challenge this weekend.”
