Thanks for cycling support

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who supported me on the 2014 Prudential London/Surrey Ride 100 on the 10th August and assisted me to raise just over £1,800 for Breast Cancer Care. The cycle ride was undertaken from the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in the most atrocious weather conditions that I had ever experienced having the tail end of Hurricane Bertha hitting us for half the ride with torrential monsoon type rain beating down upon us.

An amazing number of cyclists had punctures. We were diverted away from Box Hill and Leith Hill as it was considered too dangerous. However, I was lucky, and arrived at the finish in the Mall without mishap in a time of 6 hours 28 mins having stopped several times to take on necessary energy refreshments. Of the 24,000 starters 20,709 finished. I may not have had the challenge of those hills but the weather made up for it!
