Thanks from elected councillor

Following last week’s election for Rother District Council, and Rye Town Council, I wish to thank everyone who voted Labour on Thursday, together with all those whom I know voted for me personally and ensured I was successful.

I am sorry my running mate, Nigel Jennings, was not elected to the District, but his vote was very respectable, and as a Rye Town Councillor, he will be well placed to stand for the District in four years’ time.

I would also like to thank the first class, hard working team who supported me, particularly our agent, Paul, together with Sarah, who ran a superb campaign to let the voters know what we stood for, and how we intended to work for the benefit of Rye and its residents.

Also, I would like to give a special mention to the residents of Tilling Green Estate, in which I have a special interest because of my involvement with the newly opened Tilling Green Community Centre, which fulfils a long wanted need.

I am delighted to be back and will actively represent all the residents of Rye to the best of my ability.

Thank you

Cllr. Sam Souster

Rye Town Council
