Time to get on with it

On June 23, a clear majority voted to leave the EU. What is the problem?

The people have spoken. Had we had a general election with over one million voting for a particular party, that party would form a government in a basic and fair democratic system. Yes, that’s the way democracy works.

So let’s now get on with it, invoke Article 50 set down our targets to meet trading agreements, start negotiating with the World Trade Organisation, start diplomacy talks with our Commonwealth friends and reach out to Third World countries desperately seeking to agree trade deals with us to enable them to develop their own economies.

The doors have been flung open. More than 40 years of restraint are behind us. Freedom for Great Britain and its inhabitants is upon us. No more EU legislation. Let’s regain our fishing rights to fish our own waters.

We all love to be free, let’s enjoy it and build a bright new future for our children and grandchildren with no looking back.
