Time to sign off

The roundabout junction outside the Franciscan convent in Littlehampton, where Franciscan Way meets East Street, is complex and very busy, needing a driver’s full attention.

Many cyclists and pedestrians also use the crossing there.

I am always surprised to see that the council allows notices to be displayed on the fence surrounding the Flintstone Centre, directly opposite the junction. These notices are prominently displayed and can easily distract the driver at a crucial moment, as they negotiate the roundabout.

I feel that the practice of displaying notices on this fence should be discontinued and not allowed in future.

Would anyone care to comment?
