Tongue-in-cheek

REFERRING to my letter published in the Gazette on September 15, New infrastructure?, and the editor’s note which was added, I am quite aware of the points you make, and in fact, the short letter I submitted was written tongue-in-cheek.

I didn’t really expect it to be published. I do, however, understand that it is it the editor’s prerogative to publish any letter that he deems fit that is sent to him.

One point I would make; you say that Waitrose being a different supermarket chain is a very welcome change from, what I presume, what was in the premises before.

This, I would say, is only a matter of opinion.
