Traffic was at a stand-still again

Birkdale at Little Common was once again brought to a standstill - and a stand-off - on Tuesday (June 14) during the afternoon school run.

Traffic was gridlock for over half an hour as drivers tried in vain to get past all the badly/inconsiderately/illegally-parked cars waiting to pick up pupils from Little Common School.

One car driver got so frustrated and mounted the pavement in an effort to get out of the chaos. Two 99 double decker buses switched off their engines and had to phone their depot to explain why they would be over half an hour late.

This is a twice-daily occurrence during school term time and is unacceptable for the residents, pedestrians, drivers, public transport and the school. It is also dangerous and needs to be addressed.

I do not have the solution, but if anyone at the school, the council’s highways department or the police station does, would they please implement it as soon as possible?
