UK freed from EU and Scotland

Unsurprisingly, democrats deeply resent the democratic will. After months of debate, the Brexit referendum was fairly won on an impressive 72 per cent turnout, with 52 per cent voting ‘Leave’ (exceeding the 51 per cent minimum simple majority demanded by the Lib-Dems for their ‘major constitutional change’ AV and fixed term Parliament).

Yet R S Clymo and Stephen Hardy remain dissatisfied (17/3/17) while ignoring the undemocratic injustice that Britain was taken into the EEC (and fully political EU at Maastrict) on a simple majority decided by 0.0007 per cent of the electorate (MPs) while 99.9993 per cent of the electorate were ignored. We know many MPs ignored their constituents’ wishes – indeed Nick Clegg ordered Lib-Dem MPs to abstain from voting on allowing a Lisbon Treaty referendum. But do we hear Stephen demanding a re-run of these to ‘respect the silenced 99.9993 per cent majority’ especially as Ted Heath freely admitted he took Britain into the EEC on a lie (its political objectives)!?

We all know party-politicians tell porkies, so why did Mr Clymo and others chose to rely on political ‘lies and propaganda’ despite my urging them to do their own homework?

EU Treaties are explicit (until ‘interpreted’ by the ECJ). EU-Brexit terms will be granted through a double 72 per cent QMV (of Ministers and MEPs - not the citizens) but don’t expect a sensible agreement until a frustrated Germany intervenes to protect her economy and demands a simple majority.

Article 50 permits Britain to apply to rejoin the EU and, to the Lib-Dems’ ecstatic delight, Britain must dutifully adopt the Euro, Schengen and forgo our current derogations. Likewise Scotland, which must first become a Sovereign nation before surrendering her independence to the EU in return for a 1.5 per cent voice (compared to 8 per cent in Westminster and the UK’s EU 9.7 per cent). But if Scotland relies on her dwindling oil revenues without her £25bn p/a UK subsidies, she will be insolvent within a year and will founder in the Euro.

Meanwhile, we Sassenach tax-payers will be about £40bn p/a better off, freed from both Scotland and the EU. Bring it on.
