Unjust verdict

To read your headline and article about Darlington Court came as a shock to me, as I found it extremely unjust.

My husband David has been in the home for some four-and-a-half years. He was sent there with advanced Parkinson’s disease after mismanagement at hospital of his medication. The staff at the time had to manage him as a bedridden, doubly incontinent patient, unable to speak, feed or drink for himself and the prospects were not for a good or long outcome for his life expectancy.

Now, due to the total dedication by nursing and care staff, as well as the rest of the people who worked there and still do, he can sit in a wheelchair, sometimes can feed himself and all in all, due to their care, he has a much better standard of life than when he arrived at Darlington Court.

I do realise from reading your article that only certain short term patients gave their views and things can never be ten out of ten for everyone, but feel for the sake of all the dedicated management and staff, I should speak out for them.
