Use of Google Chromebooks within the classroom at Handcross Park

Handcross Park has begun to introduce the use of Google Apps and Chromebooks to enrich certain areas of the curriculum.

Throughout the school, pupils are able to use the Chromebooks for research and academic work which can then be shared with teachers and other pupils so that work can be continuously monitored and assessed. Pupils are able to work collaboratively on the same documents simultaneously or to print to school printers from anywhere in the world as long as they are logged into the Chrome browser via Google’s Cloud Print technology.

Furthermore, Handcross Park is now a YouTube School, giving pupils safe access to video content from YouTube Education and allowing teaching staff to have their own channels to post videos to. Using the online classroom system ‘Edmodo’ children are also able to access online resources and teachers can keep track of the children’s work, post quizzes or resources that allow the children to work independently.
