Useless ban that is closing down the struggling pubs

Being 65, I was brainwashed as a child in the 1950s to smoke, and enjoy a cigarette with my pint.

Now I have to go outside like a naughty boy and expose myself to bad weather, cold, traffic fumes and skin cancer.

My younger friends now stay indoors and smoke in front of their families.

How can this ban be an improvement to health and safety?

Fifty per cent of the pubs in Littlehampton have closed and the rest are struggling to survive, and my local still has a cigarette machine.

How stupid is that?

Not forgetting the tax, 3 per packet.

I suppose we all know smoking is bad for us.

Why not make it a class A drug and ban it completely?

Or would that upset the taxman?
