With over 430 entries it was by far one of their best with record number of excellent entries.

The quality of the exhibits was extremely good- proving to be a challenge for our judges.

These included a fantastic selection in the cookery and preserves, increased entries in the children’s section and photography as well as the usual fun competition amongst the vegetables and fruit section.

There was something for everyone. The village hall was packed with visitors in the afternoon- many enjoying the delicious homemade cakes and tea. We hope that that many will be inspired to enter our shows next year.

Meanwhile the Societies next event will be held at 7.30 pm on Thursday September 18 in The Village Hall when Tom Forward from the Sussex Wildlife Trust will give an illustrated talk entitled ‘Living Landscapes’ with the focus particularly on areas around Horsham.

All are welcome with free entrance and refreshments. Why not make it a date and come along and meet members of the friendly society.
