Volunteers from PR agency help out at Holbrook Animal Rescue centre

As part of Wildwood’s 20:20 campaign to celebrate a milestone 20 years in business, the PR agency has been taking part in a series of 20 memorable community and charitable challenges throughout the year.

The latest in the series of activities provided Wildwood with the chance to see the important work of Holbrook Animal Rescue first-hand. As well as meeting many of the loveable canine residents during the morning, Wildwood helped to improve the sanctuary’s field where their horses are kept by the exhausting task of spreading wood-chippings for the horse shelter and paddock entrance. It was a highly enjoyable and rewarding experience for all involved.

Managing Director of Wildwood PR, Tanya Houston comments: “We were delighted to support such a worthwhile local cause on our doorstep. As part of our 20:20 challenge, we asked the team to put forward causes close to their hearts. With so many animal lovers on our team, it was wonderful to be directly involved with the work of Holbrook Animal Rescue. Although hard work, it was also fantastic that we could make such a noticeable difference with the work in the paddock.”

The rescue centre is home to a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, sheep, pigs and more, who share the same basic need – a home where they will be properly cared for, fed and made to feel safe.

Holbrook Animal Rescue depends on a core team of volunteers to complete the running of the sanctuary on a daily basis but without additional charitable support, their work would be impossible. The rescue centre relies upon Sussex residents being willing to offer their animals loving new homes. For animal lovers whose circumstances do not allow them to adopt a pet, Holbrook Animal Rescue asks that they consider supporting their work in the form of a donation. The sanctuary receives minimal financial support but yet the cost of caring for the animals is a considerable one.

In particular, sponsors are sought for elderly and frail dogs that might not eligible for re-homing. Just a small monthly donation can make a significant difference in guaranteeing the provision of food and medical costs.
