Was junction kept a secret?

Many years ago there was a public inquiry led by one of HM’s inspectors concerning the local waste plan for East Sussex.

Within the report a recommendation/suggestion was for the Country Avenue, proposed for the North East Housing development, to join onto the Hastings/Bexhill Link Road.

At this junction,a roundabout or traffic light control, the Country Avenue should extend westwards to allow the Ibstock brickworks to be accessed from the north(where the cemetery is)without causing congestion in Turkey Road and Sidley .

This proposal would thus allow waste transportation either from the A21 ,onto the link road then onto the Country Avenue together with the waste facilities at Freshfields using the Country Avenue for landfill waste transportation to the brickworks if/when it became a landfill site.

I had informed several organisations of the inspector’s proposals but was told there were no plans to have a junction on the link road, nor any plan for extending the Country Avenue westwards.

Seems there is, or was,a hidden agenda to keep these plans secret before the public could object.

Too late now? I think so.
