We are entirely secular

Please may I correct an impression that could have been drawn from the article in last week’s Battle and Rye editions on the opening of the new Emmaus Hastings & Rother shop in Battle High Street.

Despite its name and its origins – founded in France after the second world war by a Catholic priest – Emmaus is an entirely secular charity, supported by people of many faiths or none, and one that welcomes residents of all faiths and none.
