We want action, not more words

Is this another example of words, words, words, without any action?

Given the amount of data public services are already required to carry, if one really wanted to find things out, such an audit should be possible very speedily.

But surely the answers to questions she supposedly requires answers to are already known?

Am I wrong in thinking governments seem to be fond of ordering data, spending money and time on it, failing to track it and then failing to act effectively? Is it action people want, not more endless figures and paperwork?

Instead of ordering more data, should it be answering the questions running through many of our minds?

Why is there such a big gap between the rich and the poor in this country? Why is there no mansion tax? Why is nothing done about bankers bonuses? Are the expenses of MPs and the House of Lords tightly controlled? What is the social and ethnic background of the people who die most frequently in our prisons? Why are our young children so unhappy and why are so many excluded from our schools? Why is there such chaos on the railways? Why are the cuts we are told are to be made in the NHS far more costly than the amount the government tells us it is injecting in? Having voted for Brexit when will we be out of Europe?
