Despite the torrential downpours forcing the committee to set up most of the stalls inside the school, the weather did ease for the duration of the fair, and visitors were able to enjoy some traditional games on the school field such as welly wanging and a coconut shy.

Balloon modeller Lord Geoffrey kept children and adults alike entertained with his marvellous creations, ranging from minions to owls to wacky hats.

Sussex Police brought along a car for the children to have a look inside, and the school caretaker, Daren Wood, also showed off one of his banger cars.

Sussex Gym Academy gave an impressive display of their skills in the arena and the children’s creativity was also displayed by some fantastic entries for the animal vegetable competition. Inside there were lots of stalls including penny sweets, tombolas, gardening and Forest School.

FOSW would like to thank the army of volunteers, school staff and governors who helped run the fair on the day, and the parents and carers for their generous donations and attendance at the event.

We would also like to say a big thank you to the numerous local companies who so kindly donated prizes for the raffle and anyone else who helped in any way.

At the time of going to press final totals were still to be confirmed, but looked to be on course to break all previous FOSW records!
