Weekend of music and sport in Battle

DUE to many markets and events being held throughout our area, local food and drink producers and some other stall holders and entertainers are finding themselves heavily committed.

This, coupled with the late summer holidays putting pressure on staffing levels, exhibitors are not able to support every event.

In view of the low number of stall holders able to attend the Autumn Fayre planned for Sunday, the organisers have decided it will not now take place but do be assured all is not lost with so much else happening throughout the weekend.

We are really looking forward to the wonderful events being held to celebrate the end of Battle’s Big Event, namely ‘Battle Rocks’ which is guaranteed to please every age group with a wonderful diverse range of musical talent taking part.

All profit to local charities.

For further information on Friday evening and Saturday, which includes a spectacular firework display, visit www.battlerocks.co.uk.

The two events of really great entertainment will be held on the recreation ground, North Trade Road, Battle.

On Saturday 8 there is a great Family Tennis Day starting at 9.30am, which is also on the recreation ground and the Battle Villages Cricket Sixes Tournament will start at 10.30am on the George Meadow Cricket Ground.

Fine weather is forecast and we wish all organisers every success with their activities and hope the local community will come out once more to support, enjoy and get involved in what has been planned.
